Timeline of events

A few weeks ago, Sherrie was taken to the hospital with trouble breathing it was reported that she had severe trouble breathing and possible bronchitis and a possible collapsed lung. After a few day to a week in the hospital she was released and told to get bed rest and oxygen. Last Friday night May 14, 2021 Sherrie started having trouble breathing. She tried to treat it herself. She rented an oxygen condenser on Saturday. On Sunday May 16th, 2021 she was taken by ambulance to Hospital Universario Esperanza. She is being treated by Dr Karyn Giron de Santa Cruz. Upon arrival to the emergency room her oxygen meter was reading 83-87. Sherrie was complaining she couldn’t breathe. Sherrie fainted. Her blood saturation was zero. The doctor called it a respiratory arrest. They gave her some anti-anxiety medication. Then a covid test which was negative. She was sedated and intubated. A CT scan was conducted and her lungs had plural effusions and liquid which was cause most likely by congestive heart failure, she also has interstitial pneumonia. She also has COPD, emphysema, and pneumonia. She has been placed on antibiotics. Steroids and diuretics. In the EKG, they saw a myocardial infarction in the lower phase of the heart or the inferior part of the heart which caused damage to the heart value . This was probably due to the lack of oxygen in the last 3 or 4 days. It was the plan to remove from the breathing tube today after 72 hours of being on it. Last night May 18th 2021 around 11pm she had a very malignant arrhythmia. Her heart rate was 300. The cardiologist did an ultrasound. Sherrie has Wolf Parkinson White Syndrome of the heart. Treatment is cardioversion which is the electric pads. They started new medicine.  At any time in the future, this can happen again. If she has a bad arrhythmia again, she will need to take medicine. If she doesn’t respond to the meds, she’ll need to be shocked. If her heart doesn’t respond to meds or shock, she will die. The Wolf Parkinson White syndrome and the bad arrhythmia are two separate issues. After speaking with Dr. Karyn this afternoon, it was determined that it will be at least another 72 hours before they can remove the breathing tube to see if she can breathe on her own.  Please go the link below to donate for here medical cost
