Sherry Campbell Fitzgerald Family Fundraiser
Donation protected
The Drumright High School Class of 1984 is reaching out to let you know that we are kicking off a campaign to help one of our classmates, Sherry Campbell Fitzgerald, and her family at a time when they could really use our help. We want to give everyone who knows Sherry an opportunity to help as well as us, her classmates.
If you are familiar with Sherry or maybe just live in or are from Drumright, you’ve obviously been aware that Sherry was diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer. It’s called, A Typical Poems Syndrome. It is a very rare form of blood cancer. She will be starting chemotherapy soon at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Sherry will begin her treatments on November 6th and continue for 6 weeks! During that time, she will endure stem cell harvesting, chemotherapy and then a stem cell transplant. This treatment alone is very arduous but add in the holiday season timing and it makes it even more difficult for not only Sherry but Sherry’s family as well.
Her husband, Ed, will be with Sherry for the first 10 days then Sherry’s other family members will be taking turns in 10 day shifts as well.
This takes a lot of planning and logistics to make this work not to mention the emotional and financial toll it will exact on Sherry and her family.
We have a great love for Sherry because of her fierce spirit, her dogged determination to beat this terrible disease and for great and unwavering faith in God.
Although we can’t fight this battle for her, we can certainly help ease some of her and her family’s burden both spiritually and financially as well as be a strong emotional support network. We are asking for lots and lots of prayers as they will be greatly appreciated.
One of the fundraising ideas we are going to start with is a “Go Fund Me” site to help offset travel and lodging expenses. There will be zero admin fees, 100% of what is raised will go directly to Sherry and her family.
We are wide open to other suggestions that might help this family in their time of need. We felt the Go Fund Me campaign would reach a wider audience since not all Drumrighters still live in Big D. Thank you for keeping this family in your thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
The Drumright High School Class of 1984
