There aren’t any words that can accurately express the depth of my emotions. The thing I feared most in this world has come true. This past Saturday 12/3, the love of my life, my wife Sherry Cato, passed away in the hospital following more than 7 years of suffering from a rare Interstitial Lung disease and was on oxygen support 24/7 for more than 7 years.

She was admitted into the ICU on 10/25/22 and placed on the ventilator. Her Interstitial Pneumonitis was progressive and caused irreparable scarring on her lungs.

Her coming into my life is by far the best thing that has ever happened to me. The age-old saying about the love of your life is indeed true. “When you know, you know”. In addition to giving me a love I could have never imagined existed, Sherry has always given me inspiration, hope, happiness, and strength. Sherry’s smile was the most beautiful and infectious thing I’ve ever seen, and her overall bliss was apparent to all who came in contact with her.

Even with the change in our lives and to care for her every day for more than 7 years, none of that stopped her from being the amazing person she was and will continue to always be.

I would like to honor Shery appropriately, and any contributions to help with funeral costs and medical expenses would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Kevin Cato
