Sherry Jones Surgery

For the past week, our mom had been having some bloating issues in her stomach.  She went to our family doctor in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, Mexico and was prescribed some medicine.  After a week of taking the medicine, she felt a lot better, but upon returning to the doctor for a check-up, after the bloating went down, he felt something in her abdominal region and immediately ordered an ultrasound and found that her gallbladder had many little gallstones and 2 big ones, with one of the big stones blocking the opening causing her gallbladder to swell like a balloon.  Our family doctor, along with our dad’s best friend, who is an emergency room doctor, both suggested that the best form of action was to have her gallbladder removed immediately.  Two days later, on Friday, November 16th, my mom had the operation.  We thank God that it was a successful surgery and she is now home recuperating. It should take about 2 months before she is fully recovered.

Unfortunately, my mom’s health scare was a total surprise; she eats better and slower than all of us and caught my dad off guard.  As a missionary family and with no health insurance my dad had to take money from their monthly support to pay for the operation.

If you are able, can you please help us raise the needed money.  We would appreciate greatly whatever you can give.  Also, if you feel it is appropriate, can you share this need with a few friends?
