Sherry's Cancer Journey

At the end of March (2016), I experienced severe pain in my lower abdomen.  I sought medical help and the dr.s  believed I had a case of Diverticulitis and treated me for that.  But the symptoms persisted through April, May and into June (in and out of the hospital), which became so unbearable that I took myself into ER again.  On June 22nd,  the dr.s decided to perform exploratory surgery and found that I had Stage 4 Colon Cancer. 

Needless to say, I and my family were in complete shock.  Sadly further surgery is not an option.  I have begun the fight against this cancer and am undergoing aggressive Chemotherapy. 

So far the Chemotherapy has been hard on my body.  I am learning that Cancer is a demanding enemy that interrupts your entire life.  I miss my normal.  But in everything, as I have lived my life, I trust God even in this.

I created this GO FUND ME page to help with extensive Medical expenses and to help with my new loss of income. 

I love my job as Church Secretary for a church in our town.  I worked for one of the finest men of God I know for 4 years.  But now I am on Medical Leave and don’t know what the future holds in that regard.

My husband and I are seeking the Lord’s provision, and along with help from our family we are trying to work through this unplanned calamity.  We are not used to being on the receiving end of financial need.  It’s strange to us.  But here we are, in the midst of the most trying time of our lives.  We greatly and most humbly appreciate anything you can offer to help us in this time of suffering.  We press on to a better day, a healing, and a great future.  We are blessed through your love and support and thank Him for you.
