Sheryl L. Kennedy ~ Memorial Services

Hi, I’m Vikki, and I’m fundraising on behalf of Sheryl L. Kennedy. Sheryl is my best friend's sister. Sheryl (45) recently received the gift of life, a long-awaited heart transplant. Sheryl is the epitome of sweet, energetic, and full of life--the perfect candidate for a new heart. If anyone deserved such a gift, it was Sheryl! The heart transplant was a success. But sadly, a few days into recovery, Sheryl suffered a major stroke. She was placed on life support, fighting long and hard for nearly two months. Unfortunately, despite the best medical teams and never-ending prayers, she didn't make it. Sheryl passed away on June 1, 2022 followed by her dad, Mr. William E. Kennedy, Sr., on June 3, 2022, which compounds the family’s overwhelmingly grief. 

 

Sheryl is the incredible and doting mother of two teen boys, Christopher (19) and Joshua (13). So when the family got the call to immediately report to the hospital for Sheryl's heart transplant, there were tears of joy, relief, and profound gratitude that she would be around to thoroughly enjoy watching Chris and Josh blossom into amazing young men. To say family and friends are blindsided with devastation is an understatement; by Sheryl’s loss and now the family’s patriarch. My friend Sharon was not only a caregiver for Sheryl, but also her dad, who was receiving hospice care when he passed on 6/3/22. Anything you can do to support the Kennedy Family and lighten the load for my best friend Sharon is much appreciated. Sharon is coordinating funeral services for her sister and her father. Mr. Kennedy is a retired Viet Nam War Veteran who will receive full military honors at his memorial services. Your donations will go towards Sheryl’s expenses as she was underinsured. Any remaining funds will be shared with Sheryl’s sons.
