Shirley Thompson Celebration of Life

Our beautiful mom, Shirley left us December 16th 2022 after 15 days in the hospital. She overcame over 18 surgeries, cancer twice, and an emergency heart surgery. After and during all of this she remained on the soccer fields for Tracy Youth Soccer League, District 7 and 8, and countless fields across the United States supporting her passion... THE KIDS!!! She has given tens of thousands of hours volunteering to California Youth Soccer leagues. She dedicated her life to youth soccer, over 30 years to TYSL, 17 years as the TYSL President. Shirley lived and breathed soccer and wanted to give all kids a great soccer experience. She enticed so many to play, volunteer (even our Dad), participate and coach soccer. Many of the kids she coached became coaches themselves. Our mom started coaching, then moved to the TYSL board where she held many positions. Eventually, she made her way to the CYSA North board and left this earth as the District 8 Commissioner.

Shirley's passing was unexpected. We are asking for some help for our Dad with the final expenses from the community, family, and friends she supported and loved. We want to give back to our mom the Celebration of Life she deserves. Please help us raise the goal for Shirley Thompson's legacy as a wife, mom, grammy/grandma, and First Lady of Soccer. Shirley's Celebration of Life will be in the Spring. It will be held at the soccer fields she fought for and spent most of her days.

She was fierce here and is now a Spicy Angel.
