Shirley's Family Urgent Relief From Eaton Fire Displacement

It is with a heavy heart we share this news. Mia and Rachel have created this fundraiser for our dear friend Shirley.

Shirley, along with her grandfather, mother, father, sister, and their beloved dog, has been left homeless due to the devastating Eaton fire. While their home is still standing, it is uninhabitable due to toxic smoke damage, and they have no access to it as the National Guard has restricted the area.

Shirley and her family have lost their belongings and their sense of stability. Now, more than ever, they need our support to secure temporary housing and begin the long and difficult process of rebuilding their lives.

Shirley's family moved to Altadena as refugees from Nicaragua and have built their lives here for decades only to now be displaced by the Eaton Canyon fire.

Shirley is an amazing young woman, artist, community organizer, life of the party, infectious smiling one-of-a-kind human. Her beautiful mother has come to my shows, brought me flowers, decorated and gave me a bottle of wine for my birthday, and has welcomed me multiple times to their wonderful gatherings at their lively and warm Altadena home. Shirley's sister clearly is just as lovely and has always made me feel any friend of Shirley's is a friend of hers! We hope you all will join us in lending a hand to help her and her family.

Mia and I have created this GoFundMe because Shirley is one of the kindest and most caring people we know. We call on our community to come together in this time of need. Any donation, regardless of size, will help provide essential resources and give Shirley and her family a chance to heal and move forward.
