SHIRLEY'S FIGHT WITH CANCER
Donation protected
Hi, My name is Dean Ramos II. Late last year (2016) I recieved a phone call from my mom, Shirley Tyner Ramos. She had called to tell me the news. She told me that she was in Atlanta, GA and that she was meeting with doctors because she has apparent cancer. During the conversation, she was my rock. She was the one telling ME that this was part of "lifes journey", one of her favorite quotes, and I broke down. No son wants to hear that and my heart broke. Immediately i was inspired by her toughness and her concern for how I was feeling. At that moment, I made it the most important thing in my life to take this on with her, and be by her side every step of the way.
See, my mom deserves that. Throughout her entire life, she has been there for anyone and everyone. It doesn't matter your situation, your race, your age, or anything else. She wants you to be the best version of you, and she will do anything to help you realize those steps and then put them in to action. She will support you in whatever you do, as long as you are happy. She has never been one to judge but rather dig deep, feel out how you are wired and appreciate who you are. She has been a steady rock of support for many people to lean on over the years as a teacher, principal, special education director, life and business coach, friend and an unconditional mom. Now is a perfect opporunity to show her just how grateful and appreciateive we really are and just how much she really means to all of us and this world.
As we have dug are feet in together to take this on, we have found out that my mom (Shirley Tyner Ramos) actually is battling competing cancers. She has been diagnosed with breast cancer and melanoma. She is away from her home of Colorado right now in Atlanta, GA developing a plan with the some of the best doctors to attack what apparently is a very fragile situation. . Cancer is a disease, its a sickness, and its inconvenient. But cancer is not life. Nor will she let it run it. She will continue to live, and enjoy every time she wakes up to a new day, even if the cancer is waking up with her.
As part of this transition, I would like to eliminate as many of the other stresses that she has on her life so she can focus on herself, her work and the things she is passionate about like skiing, camping, her dog, her grandson, and of course ...me and my two sisters.
A significant stress will be thefinancial obligation that these competing cancers will put on her. Any of the money donated will be used for things such as medical bills and deductibles, travel expenses between Denver and Atlanta, and other living expenses being that my mom and her health is now a full time job. She deserves to take this on without that burden and I hope that you too have been inspired by her story to help us in any way you can.
No donation is too big or too small and everything will be appreciated just the same. I thank you in advance for your time, your consideration, and your graciousness.
