Dear Friends and Family of "The Shoeman",
I'm writing this letter to you all for many reasons. I would first like to explain my father's medical condition and the overwhelming need for financial support in his greatest time of need. My father has been a Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Grandfather, Godfather and Friend to so many. He has proven to our community to be a valuable source of strenghten and inspiration on so many levels. Our dad has in so many touched the "souls" of so many through his Shoe business and Sports career.
My father has suffered another heart attack. The four previous stents have failed and he has three more blockages which requires open heart surgery to repair. As you know my father is 69 years old and still works fulltime as the towns Cobbler. Through his dedication to his work and family he has been able to remain our solid foundation for which we all have gone to for love, support, and encouragement. His grandchildren (Emily, Elizabeth, Nicholas, and Joshua) are feeling the heartache and pressure of life that no one ever wants to feel. Even as he lays in his hospital bed he still remains our source of strength and humor through this tough time.
For all of those that have had the wonderful opportunity to camp, party, dance, see at a ball game, been umpired by, supported, had the pleasure of him making you breakfast, laughed until you almost pee, and don't forget had the pleasure to have sat through one of his long speeches.( Shoeman's golf outting or Family reunion). This is a man that I, Lori Franchina, my mother Terry Franchina(Spence) my sister Amy Franchina Erickson, and my brother Anthony Franchina III (Little Shoe) have been raised to show respect for others, love unconditionally, and most importantly be a positive role model.
This is now the opportunity to lend a gracious hand and help The Shoeman by donating to this very deserving cause.
Sincerely,
The Franchina Family
