I’m Shonna. This is for me and Harrison & Jones (cats).

Unfortunately, I am now here, right where I don’t want to be. There is a massive amount of shame I have in setting this gfm up for myself. I’m confessing I have failed. I will lay out for you why I’m requesting your generosity. Any donation of any size is appreciated so much. Any sharing of this gfm is also highly appreciated. Thank you.

To tell you where I stand, I am on ODSP and am really struggling from month to month to survive. ODSP gives me $1049/mth. Rent, groceries, and basic needs all come out of that amount. I’m eating ramen as much as possible to keep my costs as low as possible, but I can’t continue doing so because I have Crohn’s disease and have to eat much better than I am.

With inflation and my rent going up again this year I am finding it so hard to get what I need with that little amount. So I have had to go to my credit card to fill in where ODSP fell short and now my credit card is maxed. Now that it’s maxed I can no longer pay for my cats (2) food, litter, and my groceries online.

Over the last few months I have had to take too many cabs to the hospital for appointments that aren’t covered on the Medical Special Needs transport passes we are allotted with ODSP. They have had to come out of pocket. A two way cab ride to the hospital for me is over $40. I’ve had multiple tests done.

I also do trauma therapy biweekly with a trauma therapist who has been gracious enough to bring her price way down for me to attend. I pay $100/mth or $150 if I can get another session in.

I’m asking for $3000 because I believe I can get back to a place where I can be in the clear with my credit card and be ok with taking care of myself and my boys.

Literally anything helps more than you know.
