Shonna Lee Recovery

12/1/21 Update
I was able to smuggle her out of the house.  She had been hospitalized again for a crazy infection that settled in her tonsils.  The treatment was not for the weak of heart, so I won’t post details.  But in true Shonna form she came out swinging.

On Sunday, October 24th, 2021, our special songbird underwent an emergency surgery after she was assaulted at her home. The heroes at RI hospital saved her life that night, but somehow, that was the easy part.

 

Her road to recovery won’t be just physical. She will have to deal with the emotional trauma that the injury was inflicted on her by her autistic teenager.  She had been battling to get him the help that he needs, but mental health support programs are overwhelmed and underfunded. In her weakened state, she has to endure countless calls and meetings to find the right care for her son.

 

Shonna shares her bigger than life persona with her fans, but those who know her well.. understand that she is a private person who doesn’t share the burdens that she carries. She will be out of work quite a few months while she recovers.

 

I am hoping that we can give her a financial boost to eliminate some of her stress on her and the boys.
