Short Film: The Pawn Shop
Donation protected
In an unusual pawn shop, a young father tries to improve his family’s situation by trading away something priceless— an exchange that leads his daughter to make a trade he would give anything to undo.
The Pawn Shop tells the story of a decision every parent has to make, and how that choice impacts his or her children. Every choice we make as fathers or mothers models behavior to our children and teaches them priorities and values. What are we teaching them to trade away? What are we teaching them to keep? And what are we willing to sacrifice for them?
My heart behind this film is to communicate the priceless value of family and the critical role parents play in shaping their children's identity. In a culture where parenthood is severely underrated (and often abdicated), I believe this is an important message for families everywhere.
I am assembling a high-caliber team of professionals to bring this story to life. We begin filming the last week of October, 2022 on location at the West Michigan Antique Mall.
I would so greatly appreciate your support in order to make this film! Your donations will be used to cover all production expenses, including:
- travel expenses for all cast and crew
- talent fees for our skilled actors
- food for all cast and crew throughout the duration of our 4-day shoot
- lodging for all cast and crew
If you know of someone who is also passionate about empowering parents as their children's most vital role model, please invite them to support this project. I am so very grateful to you for spreading the word and making this film possible!
