Short term needs- Greenwhich school

In October, myself and others traveled to Arusha, Tanzania to volunteer in a school called ‘Greenwhich’.

Whilst not knowing what we would experience, I can guarantee that we all knew it would be hard.

When we first arrived at the school we came across a list of short term needs, items which we all have been able to access from a young age, resulting in our ability to have the most effective education possible.

This list includes, benches for the children to eat from, a fence to surround the school, a computer, printer, books from the children to learn from, and many more.

We have set our goal at £2,000, but the more we can raise would be appreciated so we can help them with long term goals too.

On my behalf, as well as the others this experience has left an huge impact on us.

With all of us growing up with a full education, having access to all we would need, and more. Waking into a school where they have One text book between 30 plus children, the passion for learning and appreciation is more than I believe I ever had.

Whilst only being in Tanzania for a short period, it left a massive impact over me. And I believe for Ben who is currently still teaching at the school, that the impact will grow stronger.

With fundraising this money we all hope that we can give these children the best education possible. To be able to have the experience we all love and miss.

Any amount, small or large will make a biggest impact for the children, but also the teachers. The love the members of this school give is more we believe we could ever. This is our way of giving that love back.
