I am a former survival sex worker and sex trafficking survivor. I had to leave a stable job on April 20th because I filed a formal grievance against my boss for sexual harassment and gender-based discrimination and not only did HR not investigate it, but they teamed up with the other men in management and they all started harassing me in retaliation until my physical safety was clearly an issue and I had to walk out in the middle of the day. Because I quit, I am not entitled to any unemployment and I currently have $18 in checking and savings combined. I have no assets and no family, friends, or partners that are in the position to help me financially. I’m a very public, published sex worker who has written about being a prostitute under her legal name. Because of this alone, it’s almost impossible for me to get a job in a time where employers can easily Google you. As a result, I’m afraid I may have to go back to sw to make rent. The last time I did it for basic needs was 3 years ago and I was raped and robbed and I really, really do not want to be forced to go back.

im applying to new jobs and have already had a few interviews. I’m hoping I can get another job in social work in a month or two because I have a good resume and I get a lot of interviews.

im asking for money for six weeks of rent, utilities, plus food and bare essentials (I have an auto immune disease so I need to buy special food not always available through EBT or the food bank).
