Shorty and Deb Tiry

On Saturday, August 12th, Old Guard Riders, Company A lost a cherished brother Shorty Tiry in a motorcycle accident. Shorty and his wife Deb "Sparkles" were married 33 years and were very active in the veteran community. They assisted with honoring our fallen, respecting the memories and fund raising to support the living veterans. Deb, Shorty's wife is now in need of our support. Her Vietnam Veteran husband is gone and so is the income that sustained them. It is going to take awhile for the VA and SS to transfer the widows portion to Deb and in the meantime she needs the financial help to cover funeral expenses as well as regular expenses.

Many will remember Shorty as the quiet one standing back watching the outgoing Deb on her sparkling trike as she flitted about during poker runs, toy runs or both just standing quietly side by side holding a flag at one of the many veteran funerals Old Guard has honored around the valley.

Deb is devastated by the sudden loss of Shorty and I know that we as a community will ralley around her.
