Help Shoshana continue her crucial pain treatment

I'm Ellie, Shoshana's sister! I have created this campaign to assist with the cost of a pain treatment that has been vital to her quality of life. For the past decade, my sister has been living with increasing amounts of chronic pain, following a necessary nuerosurgery to address a congenital nuerological (chiari) malformation. During this precedure part of the cervical spine was removed, changing the very structure of her anatomy and making it increasingly difficult and painful for her neck to support her head. Unsurprisingly, this prevents her from being able to work and do so many other things able-bodied people take for granted. The emotional and mental isolation of conditions like this are truly detrimental to quality of life.

As many people who live with chronic illness know, finding treatments that offer relief can be very difficult and takes a lot of trial and error. It was not until two and a half years ago that Shosh finally found a practice that truly offers her any amount of relief. This practice is a once-weekly osteopathic manipulation with craniosacral therapy and cervical traction/decompression. This treatment realigns muscles, bones, and other interconnecting tissue to allow for respite from otherwise intractable pain.

Unfortunately, this type of treatment is not covered by insurance and is costing over $700 a month. In order for Shoshana to have any regular relief, weekly treatments are essential. If you are able to donate anything, it would be so much help to my family as they continue to navigate the financial burdens of the medical system and life with chronic illness.
