Shoulder Saving Surgery for Colby

My name is Rachael Hudson. I am the Co-Owner of Pilot Brewing in Plaza Midwood. You may or may not know, but we are very involved with our community outreach by supporting different charities and hosting fundraisers and events when possible. Now, one of our own needs help.

Colby has been with us for almost two years, but we can't remember a time without him! His commitment to our small brewery is truly a gift and we are incredibly lucky he chose our team. He needs some help when it comes to covering his medical bills for an upcoming surgery he is having in January. We are hosting a fundraiser on Saturday January 20th from 2-5pm at Pilot Brewing as well as collecting donations through this GoFundMe.

As far as being Colby’s employer, I know that we have a responsibility to take care of our team members, and we do everything we can afford. Colby does have an 100% employer paid health plan. This past year we upgraded everyone’s insurance plan, part of an effort to help cover some upcoming surgery expenses. My husband and I will also personally be donating some money to his GoFundMe. However, we have this brewery and we are going to use it to help raise some more funds. I just want to be transparent about our efforts, for we know asking for donations to help cover medical bills can be a controversial topic. Unfortunately, our public health care system is poor and although we are doing everything we can for him, this is where we are left.
