Keith was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2018, and now his health is significantly declining. Dr. Mary Lou took care of Keith at home, with help, until this summer, but contrary to her initial plan, she made the hard decision to let him stay at Arden Courts Memory Care. Now, Keith's hospice nurse has recommended that Dr. Mary Lou receive care herself, which was also unexpected.

Her emotional pain has been great, but her financial needs are growing exponentially, too. In addition, due to his condition, Keith now needs personal caregivers (apart from Arden's nurses) during the daytime as well as overnight.

We all have our own needs, so what we can do as individuals is probably small (at least that's how I feel!). But together, we can do something to support Dr. Mary Lou and Keith in a practical way. By contributing to their financial needs, we can show our love and support for Dr. Mary Lou and Keith, who cared for and ministered to us. After fees are deducted by GoFundMe, all your donations will go directly to Dr. Mary Lou and Keith.

For our initial goal, I set it as $10,300, their monthly caregiving needs. Here is the breakdown:

$1,500 - Keith's stay at Arden Courts Memory Care ($6,500/mo) minus reimbursement from Genworth Financial (insurance company) ($5,000/mo)

$2,000 - Keith's personal caregivers ($20/hour x 5 hours x 5 days x 4 weeks)

$4800 - Keith's personal overnight caregivers ($240/night x 5 nights x 4 weeks)

$2,000 - Dr. Mary Lou's caregivers ($20/hour x 5 hours x 5 days x 4 weeks)
