Update 26th September.
Freddie is no better but he’s also no worse. He continues to have seizures but the doctors feel they have better control over them with the medication. He’s starting another regular medication this morning that has been recommended by the neurologist.

The ultrasound still shows fluid and infection around the brain same as Tuesdays ultrasound. They will repeat ultrasound tomorrow and then a more intensive scan at the end of the week.

Update 25th September.
We finally have a diagnosis. Freddie has been diagnosis with sepsis and meningitis. He continues to have seizures but is stable. The doctors hope to see some improvements in 2-3 days. Madee and Bob have also been accepted into the Ronald McDonald house which is amazing. If all goes to plan it is estimated they should remain there for 2-3 weeks.

The Hoban family welcomed their rainbow baby, Frederick, into the world on the 16th of September 2024. After a quick entrance Freddie spent a few days in the special care ward before he was discharged into the loving arms of his parents.

On Monday night the 23rd of September, our little Freddie stopped breathing after a suspected seizure. Rushed to Bellingen hospital by our beloved Madee and Bob, he was then placed on life support and transferred to Coffs Base Hospital accompanied by a special care unit. He was then airlifted to John Hunter Hospital early Tuesday morning with Madee by his side. Bob and their five year old son George followed down the highway by car to meet Madee and Freddie in Newcastle.

Freddie remains heavily sedated, on life support but is currently stable. At present, there are no answers and Freddie is undergoing numerous tests so the doctors can determine the best way forward. There is a long healing journey to come.

For anyone who knows this beautiful family, we know how much heartbreak they have endured over the last few years and this just tops it off.

Madee needs to keep Bob in Newcastle for as long as possible to stay by her side. Unfortunately, Bob does not get paid whilst he is away from work.

Ronald McDonald house does not have the space for Madee and Bob and the cost of accommodation in close proximity to the hospital is incredibly expensive.

We kindly ask for your support to ease the financial burden during this time.
