Show your support for Angela's speedy recovery!!

I'm sitting here looking at my phone, not being able to find the words for once in my life, but I'll try my best.

On Aug 5 I had been told that Angela, our best friend of almost 15 YEARS, mother of 4 daughters, a FIRE CRACKER, the absolute center of attention, fun, caring Mom and so LOVINGLY referred to (by mostly me) as DONKEY had been taken to the ER for a headache, and confusion. Doesn't sound like much, but if you know Angela, for her to be seen as a PATIENT in the hospital, it was kind of a big deal. After 2 MRIs and a Head CT, we found that there was a mass in her brain.

The next morning on Aug 6th she's scheduled for an OR to remove it; brain surgery. In my mind, awesome.. let's get this thing out and keep on keeping on.

The recovery in the NeuroCritical ICU was intense but pretty fast, all things considered. She was out on Tues the 10th.

On Tuesday Aug 24, the word that nobody wants to EVER hear was sent in a text message and my heart SANK. Angela was diagnosed with a glioblastoma; Cancer. The tumor was malignant. (It's all sinking in as I'm typing this)

She started radiation today, which she said wasn't as bad as she thought it would be, and chemotherapy tonight from the comfort of her own home, with her husband and daughters by her side.

Angela (and Matt for that matter) would NEVER ask for or want ANY of this, BUT she said she's ok with people knowing the truth; so here we are.

When GoFundMe asked to put a dollar amount, I had no idea what to put. What's the PRICE for having brain cancer? Are there going to be medical bills? Can we send them all on a vacation? Can we pay off their house?

NOTHING MAKES THIS GO AWAY. We all just want to pinch ourselves and wake up from this nightmare.

For those of you that know me, if I'm going to do something I'm going to do it big or not do it at all. I didn't want to put a dollar amount because I honestly do not know what they'll need but to be honest, I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO.

I feel helpless.

5 bucks to let her know we're thinking about her.. that's fine. Instead of spending money on Chinese food and sneakers, I thought maybe we could raise money and send the whole family on a vacation of their dreams, to a destination of Angela's choosing when this is all over.

(Matt did say, in front of witnesses that he would get on a plane).

Do I want to hand them $50 and say "hey, this is what we raised for you"? Absolutely not. Prognosis, we still don't know. None of us want to put a time on it, I want to pray hard and stay positive BUT I want her to be able to CELEBRATE HER LIFE, and live it out to the fullest EVERY DAY with her husband and 4 beautiful daughters.

Honestly, I want that for each and every one of you, but as it should be, this situation is different. Angela has always been different, she's special, she lights up a room, she's the BEST, as good as they come.

All I'm asking for is your support to help me show HER how much she's LOVED and cared for.

For those of you that know her well, help me show her how much of an impact she's made on YOUR LIFE. How much you appreciate her homemade sauce on Sunday nights, a good concert at PNC (that we don't end up remembering), a trip to AC (to ride Jitney) and how much you'd love for her to make you a lasagna and maybe throw in an APPLE PIE (I don't think I'm asking too much).

I put a dollar amount because I had to, but it's my hope that we blow it out of the water.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your caring, understanding, generosity, continued support and love.

WE LOVE YOU ANGELA!
