"Go shorty, it's my birthday! We're gonna party like it's my birthday-month!" Yes, another trip around the sun and this year, to THAILAND! As some of you know, I'm an official Paradragon! For those of you who don't know, a Paradragon is an athlete in the sport of Dragon Boating who has some form of impairment, visible or non-visible. In a historic first, Paradragons will now also compete on the World stage. In August, my crew and I (Team USA Paradragons) will travel to Pattaya, Thailand for the World Dragon Boat Championships. Talk about a dream come true! I have been involved in Dragon Boating for about six years now and this competition is the pinnacle of our sport. Before making it on the team, we spent many months fulfilling our fitness requirements and on-the-water training at camps across the US. Exciting as it has been, you might be surprised to know that we must fundraise for all of our training, travel and competition expenses. Some of you have asked me how you can help - there's no donation too small. Be ready to cheer us on in August!
