Hello everyone.

My name is Gloria Trejo Garcia many of you know my brother in law Orlando and my sister JoAnn aka “Bo” Talamante.

In April their son in law Mike Cerna Desiree’s husband was diagnosed with a rare bone cancer called Chondrosarcoma of the spine. Dealing and tolerating with back pain for over a year and his right leg getting weaker by the day Mike decided to get this pain checked out. After an MRI was taken on his back they discovered a large tumor growing on his spine, this was causing his back pain and the tumor being as large as it was, was pushing into his nerves, which was also causing his leg to go numb and weaken. Immediate action was taken. To date Mike has undergone three major surgeries. First two surgeries at UNM in Albuquerque, NM and the most recent at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona. As much of the tumor that could safely be removed was done with surgery. He is scheduled to undergo Proton Beam Therapy at the Mayo Clinic in September, he will be there for 9 weeks or so for that radiation treatment. It is his hope that the radiation will burn and kill off the rest of the cancer. Mike has always been a hard working man who has always taken care of his family and responsibilities. With Mike being out of work for so long and continuing to require medical attention, medical bills and other bills have been piling up. They are at a point of not having anything in their reserves. In view of his current situation, I am compelled to do what I can to help Mike and his family get through this difficult time, so I decided to initiate this GoFundMe account for them and give anyone who would like to help an opportunity to do so. I’m sure Mike and Dezzie would appreciate anything that we can do to help alleviate this most stressful situation. Mike is hoping to get cleared to go back to work after his treatments are done and he’s healthy again. Thank you in advance for your prayers, well wishes, and monetary gifts.
