Show ProMo Love!

2019 is in full swing, and Project Moshen needs your help! As we wait on our pending non-profit status, we are always working to grow the dance company, and be more involved in the Philadelphia community.
ProMo dancers are busy teaching at universities, organizing our own showcase series, and producing our home season show for this April. We are also beginning to think about summer time, including our summer dance workshop series, CAMPS IN MOSHEN, performances, and a summer show.
But at Project Moshen, we always want to do more. This is where you come in...please take a minute or two to watch what we are all about and read all we do in one fiscal year. We hope you will choose to donate to an arts organization that wants to empower and encourage, along with inspiring the generation of tomorrow. Every penny counts and we highly appreciate the support!
Project Moshen is Philadelphia's only all-female Jazz Dance Company, and continues to set the standard for jazz dance in their performances, community outreach, and mission to empower women through dance.
Founded in 2010, Project Moshen Dance Company entertains audiences of all ages & backgrounds with modern day shows that intrigue, excite & captivate the recreational dance viewer, along with the seasoned dancer. Artistic Director Kelli Moshen (B.F.A. University of the Arts) uses her unique athletic, urban, intricate, & up-tempo movement style to keep her audience on the edge of their seats at all times.
In addition to being active performers, Project Moshen Dance Company works to revive jazz in the Philadelphia dance community by regularly teaching dance at local studios, universities (such as Villanova University), and holding master classes & workshops all over the Philadelphia region. By teaching dance, ProMo company members are able to continually refine their art, which helps bring a cutting-edge style to their audience. Teaching dance classes also allows Project Moshen dancers to be role models to young female dancers, and make an impact across Pennsylvania & New Jersey. Project Moshen provides their own summer dance program, CAMPS IN MOSHEN, where they visit overnight camps to train dancers who are away for the summer.
Project Moshen produces four shows a year, including their own invitational artist performance series called, Artistry Unfolded. Other ProMo credits include:
Professional Festivals such as the Come Together Dance Festival produced by Koresh Dance Company, Dumbo Dance Festival, & APAP in NYC.
Special events for the Philadelphia Phillies, the Philadelphia Flower Show, Harley Davidson, and others.
Charitable events for organizations such as the Morris Animal Refuge & the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition.
Through these efforts, along with their enthralling performances, Project Moshen Dance Company hopes to spread their passion, creativity, strength & knowledge of jazz dance to the Philadelphia dance community, while inspiring young women everywhere.
With your help we can pass our limits and do more than we've ever dreamed. With reaching our 2019 goal, we will be able to do more promotion for our home season show, get new costumes, pay for rehearsal space, and have a longer run for productions. We can obtain a bigger theatre, so more audience members can attend our performances, and produce more shows each year. When we get selected to perform in Dance Festivals around the country, we won't have to worry that we can't showcase our talents or be a part of the dance world because there is no funding. We can hire a composer and hopefully, one day have our own space.
We love everything we do, and one of Project Moshen's main goals is to be a household name in the Philadelphia arts community. To be an established dance company there is a slight fee. When we eventually receive non-profit status, we wish to continue all the efforts above and more. One of the most important is to teach more open classes to the community, especially the children who can't afford dance on their own. We want to share our craft with children, to use movement to express their feelings, gain confidence, motivation, and have fun. Project Moshen's main objective is to give back through dance, and you can help that ideal transform into reality.
