SHSAA Cherokee Grants
Tax deductible
The Sequoia HS Alumni Association is soliciting funds in support of its annual program awarding grants to Redwood City's Sequoia High School teachers to help pay for classroom needs that are not covered by school funding. It can be for a service or the purchase of instructional equipment and/or materials not included in the current school budget.
Members of the "Cherokee Grants" Committee evaluate each request and decide how funds can best be spent to benefit the most students.
An application form prepared by teachers is reviewed and approved by both the department heads and school principal prior to submission to the Alumni Association.
The "Cherokee Grants" program is so named in honor of Cherokee scholar and educator, Sequoyah, for which the Sequoia tree is named.
