Shubegh Singh

Hello Everyone,

With a very heavy heart, I(Sunny Chahal) am organizing this fundraiser for Shubegh Singh, who unexpectedly left us all on Feb 2nd, 2024, following a tragic accident. Shubegh came to Winnipeg, MB as a Temporary Foreign Worker from Amritsar, Punjab, India in summer of 2023. He recently started working as a flatbed truck driver and died while performing his job duties as per Global News(click for details).

Shubeg leaves behind his 2 year old daughter, his wife and his parents. While no amount of money can ever ease their pain and sufferings, I am arranging this fundraiser to help cover the cost of funeral and assisting his daughter, wife and parents get a Canadian visa for performing his final rights as the body is not in a condition to be sent to India.

Shubegh came from a very humble background, had a lot of debt and was only now becoming hopeful of giving a happy life to his family. Even though he is no longer among us today and cannot see that wish come true, the least we can all do is come together and show the support for his bereaved family who are now under immense amount of emotional and financial distress.
