Support for the Baker Family

Twenty years ago, I met Judy Baker at the Pittsburgh airport. We were both hired to be on staff for the summer in Jamaica doing mission work, and I, along with another friend, spent the flight down to the island getting to know Judy. Two Summers spent living on an island will bring people together, and I am grateful that she remains one of my best friends to this day.

In 2020, after experiencing a few health issues, she saw a doctor for a check-up. On May 18, 2020, she received a shocking diagnosis of Stage 4 colorectal cancer.

To this day, the cancer has metastasized to her liver, pelvis, lungs, and sternum. Judy has endured and persevered so bravely through liver surgery, biopsies, sleepless nights, immense pain, and multiple rounds of radiation and chemo. She is currently undergoing a two-month round of chemo, and we are all hoping and praying that the cancer will be GONE FOR GOOD.

Judy is married to Jeff and has two beautiful children, Sasha (8) and Elias (6), and home to their family is in Western PA.

I am creating this GoFundMe to relieve the medical bills that have added up for Judy and her family. Treatments, surgeries, and medications are costly, and it would be a tremendous gift not to worry about the financial aspect of this battle.

A verse that has been very encouraging to Judy during this time is 2 Chronicles 20:15,17:

15 He said: “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s. 17 You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.’”
