Shylah needs all help and prayers
Donation protected
Shylah Ava Lee's(grandaughter of Sonya Lee) journey with nephrotic syndrome and subsequent kidney failure at just 1 year old has been a tremendous challenge for her and our family. The transition to hemodialysis on December 2, 2018, marked a significant turning point, requiring significant adjustments and lifestyle changes. However, after two long years, the we received a glimmer of hope with the blessing of a kidney transplant, offering Shylah a chance at a better quality of life.
However, the road to recovery was not without its obstacles. The necessity of immunosuppressive medications to prevent rejection of the transplant meant that Shylah's immune system was compromised, leaving her vulnerable to infections. Unfortunately, amidst the global COVID-19 pandemic, Shylah contracted the virus, leading to complications that ultimately resulted in rejection of the transplanted kidney. This setback forced Shylah back onto dialysis, prolonging her medical journey and placing additional strain on our.
Throughout this tumultuous period, Shylah has required numerous surgeries, frequent visits to specialists in nephrology, cardiology, and urology, and multiple hospital admissions for various health concerns. Each step of the way, out family has remained steadfast in their commitment to prioritizing Shylah's health and well-being above all else, despite the challenges and sacrifices they have faced.
As a result of Shylah's medical needs, i had to take time away from work to provide the necessary support and care for her. Balancing work responsibilities with the demands of managing Shylah's complex medical condition has undoubtedly been a difficult juggling act for our family, but they we're grateful for the understanding and support we have received from our love ones during this trying time.
In the face of adversity, Shylah continue to demonstrate resilience, determination, and unwavering hope for a brighter future. We remain grateful for each day together and remain steadfast in our belief that with love, support, and medical intervention, Shylah will overcome these challenges and thrive once again.
