SHYNESTRONG’S JOURNEY OF LOVE
Donation protected
Hello everyone, my name is Shalondra Jelks and I currently reside in Alabama. I am a single mother to 5 beautiful children Malachi age 15, Myniyonna age 13, MuZyauri age 7, MuCorizaey age 5 and MyZamir who is 9 months old. My children and I love spending quality time outdoors doing fun things like camping, fishing, trail riding, swimming and we love our weekend getaways so much. In 2021 my children and I were surprised with news that God was blessing our family with a precious baby. As my pregnancy progressed I found out I was having a boy and I just couldn’t believe it. I got ultrasound after ultrasound making sure the sweet baby was a boy. Around 29 weeks I began to hurt and by 30 weeks it was unbearable. I went to UAB to get checked and I had almost 3 liters too much of amniotic fluid in belly so they admitted me and drained 2. I stayed a few days they got me comfortable and released me to go home. I was home a couple of weeks and I began to hurt again in the same area so I went back and was readmitted. All the fluid had come back and they wanted to keep me until I had the baby. They told me that he may have a problem swallowing due to me having so much fluid in my sac. I began to worry and the next week I went into labor. Once my labor progressed and water broke his heart began to drop. On April 30, 2022 I had a emergency section and MyZamir was born weighing 4 pounds 1 ounce. I didn’t get to see my boy until the next morning he had to immediately go to surgery and get a ventilator put in his mouth. MyZamir was born with something called VACTERL DISEASE. Each letter in this word means he has an anomaly for it. MyZamir has 7 major issues that all need surgically fixed with the heart being one of those things. UAB has kept my baby staple and have done so many good things. We have had a few major surgeries and some very quick surgeries. On Tuesday January 30, 2023 MyZamir slept all day and wasn’t responding to my touch. Around 2 pm doctors just suddenly told me my son was going to die and that if he lived to see January 31, 2023 they would be surprised. I don’t know what tomorrow will bring for MyZamir but I know he is a fighter. At this time I choose not to work and I am behind on my monthly bills at home. I have my parents who keep my 4 children while I live in the hospital with MyZamir but I am not able to do much for them. It’s a new year and I would like to celebrate my children’s birthday and go get them the things they need and some of what they want. I just want to feel somewhat normal again. I have lived here in UAB for 281 and every single day is a battle but I know God is working in the midst of my storm. First I would like to ask everyone that reads this to Please if you aren’t already pray for MyZamir and my family. I know we are here right now because of God and I know we wouldn’t have lived this long without him and everyone’s prayers. Secondly I would like to say that any donation made will go towards things that MyZamir needs, getting my bills cut back on at home and looking forward any monthly bills ahead and also the needs of my other 4 children and filthier transportation needs to and from the hospital because they are also a big support to their baby brother. Thank you all in advance for your contributions towards MyZamir. God bless each and everyone of you!
