We are reactivating this page due to Gavin being diagnosed with a 2nd cancer recently.

Our nephew, Gavin was diagnosed with Leukemia on 4/14/16, at the age of 10.  His cancer was chemo resistant which required Gavin to need a life saving bone marrow transplant. He was blessed with one November 11, 2016 thanks to an amazing man from Germany who we all have contact with now. Gavin ended up with a very rare side effect from the transplant causing issues with his kidneys. In March 2017 Gavin became ill, ultimately spent 5 months in the hospital.  During that time, on June 11th he went into cardiac arrest 5 times.  During the first month of that hospital stay he went into acute kidney failure requiring him to need dialysis treatment 3x-week.

Gavin has spent well over 500 days in the hospital, has had so many procedures & surgeries over the past 4.5 years, we've lost count.

2020 was setting out to be Gavin's best year health wise. He was strong, doing online school, and was weeks away from possibly being put active on the kidney transplant list this month!

Sadly, two weeks ago (the week of 9/14/20) after a few days of vomiting then a bad headache a few days later,  a CT scan revealed a mass on the left side of Gavin's brain.  Gavin was immediately flown to Stanford Hospital, who had been assessing him the past few months for his kidney transplant.  After 6 days of testing he was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer called  Glioblastoma mutiforme Grade 4.

Our entire family is absolutely heartbroken that Gavin has been diagnosed with cancer... again!! We are at a loss for words, just simply heartbroken.  We were all looking forward to what Gavin's life would be with a new kidney. NOW he has a beast to deal with, GBM is an extremely aggressive brain cancer, that doesn't leave much room for treatment. The doctors at Stanford said surgery to remove the tumor is not an option do to location and the rapid rate of regrowth of it.  Patti is working on bringing Gavin home to be with family. Whatever the next step would be can be done in Las Vegas.

Thank you to everyone who has supported our sister Patti (Gavin’s mom), Gavin & his brother Bradley who serves in the Army.  Gavin has been blessed with so many people who have followed his journey on Facebook (Gavin's Team), who pray for him every time we ask for prayers!  Now more than ever, we ask you to pray for Gavin, he needs them now more than ever!

Our sister Patti has been Gavin's 24/7 caretaker and had to quit her job in 2017.  She has made ends meet with past fundraisers that were done.
Being out of town is requiring more financial needs at this time.
So many people have reached out asking how they can help.
At this time, financially & prayers would be the best way.
Thank you so much. xoxo
