SI Dublin members walk for Teach Tearmainn
Donation protected
Thank you all for your donations and support.
We have completed our 10KM walk.
This year’s Women’s Mini Marathon can’t take place but we are very happy to tell you that Soroptimist International Dublin club members are walking (some running/jogging) for Teach Tearmainn.
Our members have participated in the Dublin W omens Mini Marathon for many years (you could say decades) and raised funds for a lot of worthy causes. We did not want this year to pass without walking (running / jogging) the 10KM and helping Teach Tearmainn,

Teach Tearmainn, based in Co Kildare, supports women and children who are experiencing or have experienced domestic violence and abuse. It offers a variety of supports such as one to one, outreach, court accompaniment, refuge and has a dedicated children’s support worker. During the present Covid 19 crisis Teach Tearmainn has adapted its services to meet the current regulations and to ensure the safety of staff and the women and children they support. A 24 hour helpline is in place and Teach Tearmainn is fortunate that the refuge has four self -contained apartments with no communal areas and has therefore been able to accommodate women and children who need a place of safety at this time. Refuge spaces which were already inadequate are even more stretched at the moment. While the services are very busy, all services know that this is only the tip of the iceberg and that once restrictions are lifted and women are more able to seek help, requests for support will soar. http://www.teachtearmainn.ie/
Each participating club member and friends are walking an individual 10km in their local area in keeping with Covid 19 restrictions.
