Siaan Kaur Foundation
Donation protected
We are hoping to raise money in honour of our beautiful baby girl, Siaan Kaur Binning. On 16th October 2023 our baby arrived into this world sleeping. Being our first born we want to keep her name alive and to put good back into the world despite our world being broken.
As soon as Siaan Kaur was born the conversation soon turned to her funeral and sending her to the hospital morgue. This did not sit right with us as we had spent 9 months dreaming of our first moments with our baby, her funeral not being one of them.
With the aid of a hospital cold cot we were able to spend 2 nights and 3 days with our baby. Whilst no time is enough, having access to a cold cot gives bereaved parents the opportunity to spend more time with their baby before the funeral.
We will be raising money to donate cold cots to hospitals that do not currently have them in the country. The thought of parents having to rush their time with their babies hurts our hearts, so we want to really push for donations as each cold cot costs £2200 to make so that’s £2200 worth no parent missing the chance to see their baby, being able to memorise each and every part of them and to get cuddle time with their babies. We want to be a light in each parent’s journey who sadly have to say goodbye to their babies. Each cold cot will have a plaque with Siaan Kaur's name on so that she can be remembered for helping others forever.
To raise money, we will firstly be running the Coventry half marathon. This fundraiser is so close to our hearts as it will directly impact the lives of bereaved parents like us.
Within our community losing your baby is not spoken about enough. We want people to remember Siaan Kaur, to talk about her existence and to educate people on stillborn.
We are in the process of creating a formal charity called Siaan Kaur Foundation and will continue to carry out Seva (Charity) in our baby's name forever.
