SIARGAO NEEDS OUR HELP! Typhoon Odette aftermath

On December 16 a category 5 super typhoon, named Odette slammed its way straight over Siargao island, where me and my family live. A catastrophic direct hit has left the Island in ruin.

 

 

The true extent of this disaster is starting to become clear. Fortunately the number of fatalities was relatively low. Unfortunately a large number of evacuation centers and homes have been totally wrecked and countless people are without shelter.

Food and water is running low. There is no electricity ( rumours that this could last up to 6 months.) Signal is slowly coming back to different areas of the island. Which Inturn is increasing the efficiency of our aid relief missions...

 

 

 

 

We have been primarily focusing are aid to the people situated in my home villages of Santa Fe and Santa Cruz (G.L).

We have already achieved 4 successful aid missions to the island and are currently in the final stages of preparation towards another 2 which will arrive early in 2022

We will be 100% transparent on where the funds have and will go..

As of this moment these are the main things that the people badly need:

 

We have already achieved 4 successful aid missions to the island. We have a dedicated team of people on the island and mainland who are all driving to achieve and focused on helping the people of Siargao.
So far we have delivered:
-6.5 tons of rice

-100+ boxes of dry goods

-various medicine
-5 chainsaws
-2 generators
-15ft tarpolen

 

 

We will adapt the aid delivered as the situation develops and continue to deliver what is most needed.....

 

 

 

Unfortunately it is right at the start of the rainy season. More low pressures  have already effected the island since the disaster.  Many people are still without shelter....

 

The focus is now shifting towards shelter.  We aim to offer timbers / roofing material and walling to help people construct shelters or help repair, what is left of their homes.

 

 

 

We need to take action now.... The cries for help are real. My family is among them. Any small donation will go so far...
