To Whom It May Concern:
The Walter L. Sickles High School JROTC needs your support. We have a large fundraising goal to meet and not enough funds. The unit is made up of 120 amazing young men and women cadets who consistently rank in the top 10% of the more than 900 Air Force JROTC units around the country earning “Distinguish Unit with Merit” honors in every Unit Evaluation conducted by our Headquarters staff every three years. The cadets average more than 2,000 hours of service to our community each year and learn valuable leadership and citizenship skills through their dedication and hard work at the many competitions around the state and nation. They also do a remarkable job of giving back to our community as a top fund raising team for Relay for Life donating more than $3-4,000.00 each year and more than $500 each year to our PTSA school charity during the holidays for families of students in need.
We have an ambitious year planned of potentially life-changing experiences through our curriculum-in-action trips to explore aeronautical themed field trips to the Museum of the United States Air Force in Ohio and Sun N Fun in Lakeland. Their competition teams such as Marksmanship, Color Guard, Drill and Physical Fitness compete around the state and nation learning what it takes to dedicate themselves to excellence, teamwork, and above all sportsmanship to achieve their goals and they amaze us every year! Our marksmanship team is routinely in the Top 3 in AFJROTC and 20th in all service JROTC units. The Color Guard honors the cloth of our nation at NHL and MLB as well as many civic events around the state including Snowball Express at Walt Disney World.
Air Force JROTC can only fund a small portion of these expenses and the rest is up to the cadets. They work tirelessly fundraising for not only their program but charities too but they need your help to continue to give them valuable life experiences and expand their learning experience. You can help fill the gap.
Any donation is greatly appreciated by donating to: “gofundme.com” search for “Sickles High School AFJROTC” and it will go directly to the cadets program to help fund their trips and competitions. Our account is managed by the school bookkeeper and routinely audited. You can track their year on FaceBook at Sickles High School AFJROTC.
Thank you for your consideration and support of tomorrow’s leaders!
Sincerely,
Robert A. Marasco
