Excellent article from Rocky Mountain PBS about Siddiq
Hello! My name is Jeanne Schapp, and I live in Portland, OR. I retired from Visa International in 2000 and I now dabble in art and have also increased my activism activities -- particularly concerning women's rights/human rights, social justice and, especially now, democracy issues. I learned of Siddiq's plight through a justice group I participate in (Justice Matters, sponsored by Glenn Kirschner, former Fed prosecutor and MSNBC analyst).

I was heartbroken when the US pulled out of Afghanistan so quickly without taking care of the interpreters and others who supported the military's work over the last two decades. And then I heard about Siddiq: he and his family were in mortal danger. Finally, after waiting nine years and working for the US Military for 14 years as an interpreter, he was granted a Special Immigration Visa. After a circuitous route, Siddiq and his family are finally able to make a new home in Colorado.
But there are many challenges, including depression and PTSD; Siddiq and his family have been struggling. They have one child and expecting their second in December.
Siddiq and his family need help to pay for monthly expenses, help them get settled, possibly buy a used car, and for Siddiq to find a job. They receive some government assistance, but not enough to survive. He receives money for housing (expensive), an EBT card for food, and limited medical aid.
He would also desperately like to work. Please help them out if you can, and thank you so much for your support! :-)
No amount is too small.
