Sidewalk School Shelters Fundraiser
Tax deductible
Felicia Rangel-Samponaro and Victor Cavazos, founders and directors of The Sidewalk School, have partnered with several other American and Mexican NGO's, to build two migrant shelters in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico. As we speak, over two thousand people including pregnant women, unaccompanied minors, medically fragile individuals, and families are living in tents or under tarps in a downtown plaza without proper sanitation, security, or access to critical services. Every day, new asylum seekers arrive at a plaza that can’t support any additional people. These precarious living conditions for asylum seekers exacerbate this humanitarian crisis and expose them to daily kidnappings, violence, extortion, and the elements (temperatures range from 30 degrees to 112 degrees Fahrenheit).
The Sidewalk School is working around the clock to care for the migrants living under these terrible conditions and is committed to getting as many people into shelters as soon as possible. This fundraiser is for the funds needed to complete construction. As Felicia stated in the video, The Sidewalk School is focused on caring for the most vulnerable groups in Reynosa, including black asylum seekers, children, and families. No donation is too small. Your help is so appreciated and needed.
