Honoring Sidney Mae Olson
Donation protected
On May 9th, a large truck hit and killed five-year old Sidney Olson in an Andover crosswalk on her way to art class.
She was a soft-spoken and smiley child with springy curls. She wanted nothing more than for people to come together in shared experiences – in nature, in the classroom, anywhere.
In the wake of her tragic death, her family is focused on honoring her spirit in the community with programs that help unlock the potential of children of all backgrounds.
We established this page to help with those efforts, and funds will be used to support non-profit programs in the Andover areas, including:
- Sidnye's Rainbow Picnic, a community gathering and fundraiser in her honor
- The Sidney Mae Olson Rainbow Scholarship Fund at Shed Children's Campus
- Sidney's Rainbows pedestrian safety advocacy group
We recognize many in the community have been shaken by this incident and want to help. These programs are designed to channel that aid to the places it will matter most.
