Sid's Veterinarian Bills
Donation protected
I don't normally do this... but I could really use the help right now.
Update as of 7/24, Sid is currently on a feeding tube at the internal medicine department at OSU Vetrinary Clinic. After multiple tests & samples of his lymph nodes, the vets at my usual clinic are unable to determine the cause of his illness. He is down from 18lbs to 9lbs in 3 weeks. I just spent another 3k to have him admitted to OSU & figure out what is wrong with my cat or if he is going to live :( I am beyond distraught...
Original Post:
Last Sunday was Sid's 9th birthday and when I came home with some new toys & catnip... he appeared to be very lethargic & not in a playful mood, which is VERY unlike him. He's usually very spunky & active (aside from day long cat naps, of course). I felt bad & tried to baby him that evening, offered treats & lil nibbles of some of his favorite people foods.
The next day, he was much less responsive, looked fairly close to lifeless & scared the shit out of me. I rushed him to the Emergency Vet because it was like 6am on 4th of July & my vet was not open. The tech at MedVet looked him over & mentioned he was having diarrhea & throwing up. They didn't have a solid reason for the illness, but still were able to charge me $700 & hand him back to me with vomit still on his face & feces still on his backside. I was absolutely livid they couldn't even clean him up.
After making another appointment with my regular vet the next day, they took him in & did an ultrasound & still hadn't discovered any blockage or immediate sign of health concerns, but did notice some inflamed lymph nodes they were concerned about, so they scheduled another visit a few days later. This visit was $600 & hadn't even included the biopsy scheduled today.
After the 3rd visit today, they still haven't discovered any sign of blockage or visible signs causing his illness. They are sending some bloodwork & samples from the lymph nodes for lab work. Today's visit was another $350.
I'm at $1,650 in vet bills in 1 week. Sid is still not eating or using the restroom & has lost 5 pounds in 1 week... which is really, really not good & it's breaking my heart. I'd spend whatever it takes to keep my babies happy & healthy as long as I can. He's not old enough to be concerned about fatality, but I am very, very concerned for him. Especially since he was perfectly normal & healthy the day before.
He hasn't moved much in the past week besides his cat tent & the litterbox... where he is sleeping, not using the restroom, but he knows he needs to eat & hasn't. He finally made a bowel movement yesterday, but kinda just shit all over himself & still isn't eating.
Any help you are able to send our way would be greatly appreciated, even if it's just a simple prayer or keeping the lil fella in your thoughts. Sorry for the lengthy explanation, but there's so much on my mind right now. Thank you for reading & for any donations, suggestions or sympathy you can provide.
