Volk Family Fund in Memory of Sienna Farr

Laura Volk has suffered the most unimaginable loss: the death of her 13-year-old daughter, Sienna. Laura and her two daughters, Sienna and Sadie Farr, were vacationing with family and friends in the Outer Banks town of Kill Devil Hills when their vacation rental house caught fire in the early morning of August 11. Laura incurred severe burns and was flown to a Norfolk, VA hospital with life-threatening injuries. Sadie, a rising junior at Einstein HS, escaped with minor injuries. Sienna died in the fire.

Laura is expected to be in intensive care for at least 4 weeks and in burn recovery for months. She will face extensive, ongoing medical bills in addition to funeral costs for her daughter. It’s unclear when she will be able to return to work in the ecological landscape design business that she owns.

The money we raise will go towards a memorial in honor of Sienna Farr and to support expenses for Laura and Sadie as Laura recovers from her injuries. Laura is known for her generous spirit, often helping others through difficult experiences and volunteering in the community.
