Sierra Halpin’s Road to Recovery

We are raising funds to support our friend Sierra with medical expenses and costs of living following her major brain surgery.

Shortly following the first of the year, Sierra was rushed to the emergency room after experiencing total numbness and loss of strength in her arms and legs. After spending that entire day in the emergency room and three separate doctor visits, Sierra was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation. A condition in which brain tissue extends into the spinal canal; causing cysts on the spinal chord. If gone unnoticed and without immediate surgical action, Chiari Malformation has a high likelihood of paralysis.

Sierra has a long road of recovery ahead of her. Due to the severity of the surgery, day to day tasks following surgery will become difficult. Sierra will be unable to return to work for months while she fights hard to return to her normal day to day life.

If you know Sierra, you know that she is a kind, funny and loving young woman who is consistently putting others before herself. She is the type of friend that you can count on and know that she will always be there to help. So now it’s our turn to try to help her.
