Sierra Leone Immersion 2024

Hi, my name is Jenny and I'm a year 12 student at St Joseph's College. 15 sixth form students, including myself have been chosen to take part in the school's annual trip to Sierra Leone (West Africa) in October 2024 through working with the Christian Brothers.

For the duration of two weeks, we will be spending time working with surrounding communities, schools, and charities to try and make a difference in people's lives whether big or small to make an impact and benefit the less fortunate in any way we can. Examples of this include; providing resources to locals and their families, sharing the experiences of the people we meet to others, teaching lessons to younger children and more.

I am extremely grateful to be provided such an opportunity that will enable me to gain an awareness surrounding other cultures and the wider world as a whole. However, for this to be possible, I need to raise £1700 before October which means I will also be organising other fundraising events to contribute to this altogether. Any money donated to the cause will be massively appreciated, thank you for reading!
