Sierra Monahan

Sierra's love for horses collided with her health and safety this past Sunday. She was enjoying riding one of her horses when abruptly he flipped over backwards on top of her causing life threatening internal injuries. She was first evaluated/treated at St. Francis Hospital and then was rushed to HCMC where she underwent two lengthy and extensive surgeries to repair her aorta, punctures in her stomach and additional internal damage.

Sierra has been so brave through it all, but she has a long road of fighting and healing ahead of her. She will require extensive care and time to recover, which will require her parents to take significant time away from work. Farah Pieper, Sierra's mother will be taking an unpaid leave from work to stay by her side 24/7 until she is able to independently take care of herself.
