A Decade Locked Up & $70,000 Restitution for Graffiti
Donation protected
Bryant was handed down the most severe sentence for graffiti ever, he was facing 34 years in prison and 100 counts of felony vandalism, just for his art. Also known as Sight or Sightzilla, he was sentenced to almost a decade, which he served as a forestry firefighter, for no pay. Since his release he has continued to teach and share his art, he is a father of three small children, and his wages continue to be garnished to pay his $70,000 restitution.
LA Metro claimed in court that each of the 70 windows he etched his name into cost more than $1000 to repair, and they believed that this damage was worth stealing a decade of his young life AND forcing him to pay the fines for the rest of his life.
Your contribution here helps to lift this burden from him and his family, it is a testament to the value of public art, and will support him in continuing to teach and bring art to his community. Thank you.
