Siki Mgabadeli Fighting the effects of Stroke

A message from Siki
My dear friends, colleagues and clients,
I want to reach out to say thank you for all the love and support I have received in response to my life-changing chronic health issues. As some of you may know, I have had two strokes, the first on the 14th of February in Cape Town.
This has meant spending my time since then either in hospital, rehab or now, thankfully, back at home where my slow journey on the road to recovery continues.
My speech is getting better and I have much work to do on my mobility, but I am still here and despite this being the greatest challenge I have ever faced, and hope I will ever have to meet, I truly want to thank you for all your prayers messages of hope - and I am determined to use those help me keep going towards my own new normal.
But at the same time, and this is probably harder for me than the physical challenges which lie ahead, is my now unavoidable need to ask for financial assistance, which I never imagined might become necessary.
I have been very lucky to have worked with most of our local media companies, and with so many of South Africa’s top businesses, and also globally. So to suddenly have my ability to work cut off overnight, has been truly devastating and very hard to come to terms with. But I also realise that like so many others for whom similar devastating illnesses have come their way, I need to continue to get up every morning and do everything I can to get back on my feet - not only physically, but emotionally.
I must also humble myself be and ask not only for your continued spiritual support but, if possible in these very challenging personal times for everyone, for any financial help you may be able to offer so that I can focus on putting every ounce of effort into my rehabilitation efforts and the costs that go with them.
I feel I am doing well But the costs related to the expert help I am guessing, along with the normal daily expenses for me and my brother Ayanda, I am determined not to give up.
I cant answer written messages right now as my reading and writing is severely impacted, so please so contact me through either my family, or my very special friend Vicky Sleight or my long-time agent Stuart Lee, www.famousfaces.co.za who are setting up a fundraising program to allow any donation, regardless of its size, to be professionally administered.
And I cannot say thank you enough to my family and real friends who are still there for me and have help me put this very difficult letter together. Sending you all love and wishing you health and that you stay safe.
Much love always
Siki Mgabadeli
