Urgent Help Needed for Sikkim GLOF Disaster
Sikkim, Northeast India, is reeling from a catastrophic Glacial Lake Outburst Flood (GLOF) after heavy rains triggered a glacial lake burst on October 4th. The flash flood reached the Teesta III Dam at Chungthang at midnight, destroying the dam in minutes before its gates could be opened. As a result, water levels downstream in the River Teesta rose by up to twenty feet, causing widespread damage, including loss of lives, homes, and infrastructure.
We've launched this GoFundMe to provide immediate relief and rebuild lives.
