UPDATE: Many of you know after creating the Gofund me profile, we had our share of feedback both positive along with the negative. My name has been dragged thru the mud, and lies have been told. Later the same day a previous team member decide to pack up her belongings (which was fine) along with things I have purchased and utilized in our Salon. Doing so that not only hurt me but also the other team members, customers and above all the littles we are here for. It was definitely one of those “hiccup” moments. It broke me completely. Sunday evening after leaving the poppy festival to show our support to other small businesses. I arrived to our Sola location at 6:20 pm, I unlocked the doors and my jaw dropped. Over 90% of the shop was gone. 2 of the kids chairs were taken along with my stock pile of color spray, ribbons, blow dryers, toys all the way down to Kleenex boxes and fruit snacks, the loyalty card were tossed in the drawer like a pile of trash. After working with the local sheriffs station, making police reports and trips to the courthouse, speaking with my insurance company and doing everything imaginable on my end including having the locks changed, It was definitely a set back, material things can/have been replaced but the devastation of knowing one’s persons actions in a split second decision can affect so many without giving it a second thought, is heartbreaking to say the least. I did everything I could to help the person. Even after I knew what she was about. When she thought that would shut us down, we fought back…..
We are in possession of our new location, we put in countless hours, sleepless night, endless trips to hardware stores, online purchases and numerous attempts to find equipment that had to be replaced after the theft that occurred the evening of 04/21/24. After contemplating the options I was faced with, either to close doors as devastating as it would be and pray someone picks up where I left off OR work harder than ever to make sure we pull thru this and exceed further than I ever imagined possible. I chose the hard road (as I tend to do) but I’m so glad I made that tough decision and doing so will give my team, customers, friends and family something to be proud of! We have had an outpouring of support, encouragement, love and compassion. Not to mention hard work by everyone involved. I am deeply grateful for each and everyone one of you.
We still have a lot of work to do, supplies and equipment being replaced/assembled. But nonetheless, we are fighting this battle and can see the light at the end of the tunnel. We are still accepting donations either monetary, business related supplies, gently used toys to add variety in our new play area, words of encouragement, or just by simply sharing our story.
Thank you so much to everyone who has spread the word this far. We were able to accept appts at the Sola salon’s building until closing doors there on 04/27/24. Then Opened the New Doors at 43815 15th st West lanc 93534 on 04/29/24. We had our very first customer at the location at 10am and continued our daily routine along with continuous work still in the process to complete our salon to accommodate our endlessly growing community.
Hello, I’m Nicole, owner of Silly Willy Kids Cuts in Lancaster, Ca. I’m trying to raise funds to assist with the expenses to relocate Silly Willy Kids Cuts. Due to a series of unfortunate circumstances, this move is urgent for the shop in order to keep the doors open. It has been an ongoing search for the perfect location paired with the correct timing. But everyone knows, things don’t always go as planned. As a result of these particular circumstances that we have had to endure, I have been forced out of my comfort zone. Which in turn has turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Out of respect for others, I can not/ will not go into details publicly about what lead up to this ultimate decision. Just know the new and improved Silly Willy Kids Cuts will continue to assist our community and those around us. I am reaching out to ask for help. I do have some funds to help support the move, but there is still ALOT of things that we could use help with. We will need to purchase additional supplies and equipment for the new location as well as make a few adjustments to ensure your child’s safety needs are met! I set our goal a little high to allow for any hiccups we may encounter along the way. Any funds raised will be used exclusively for the new Salon location, to paint, restore and equip the location as well as make it extremely kid friendly. Any help would be greatly appreciated whether it’s a donation of some sort, a helping hand or sharing to spread the word. Thank you all for your continued support. We are super excited to begin the next phase of our journey with you all!
