Simone “MON” McLiesh, Loving Mother of Two, Taken Too Soon.

Donation protected
Hi my name is Tayla, and I am fundraising in an attempt to provide assistance to the 2 young children and family of Simone “Mon” McLiesh, a woman that was brutally honest, fiercely loyal, and who loved unconditionally. She was taken from us far far too soon, and so unexpectedly.

Mon was my closest friend, my second mum, and she was the godmother to my son who is 8 months old.

She leaves behind two beautiful children Marlee, 15 and Mason, 12, along with two fur babies that she adored, Mieka and Mini.

After nearly 2 years of severe pain Mon had the tests and checks done that would come back with a diagnosis of bladder cancer, and she would need to be rushed in for surgery only a few days later. She underwent a full hysterectomy, as well as a cystectomy, she had a stoma bag attached to her abdomen and was told she would likely only have a few years left, maybe 5 or so if she was lucky. Roughly 9 weeks post surgery, she had returned to some semblance of normality, slightly weakened but otherwise in good spirits, when she went for a check up. It was then she had a few more tests done, when the results came in she got the news telling her that the cancer had spread to her stomach, and there wasn’t a great deal more that could be done. With this she was given a new timeframe of about 18 months give or take, IF she were to commence chemotherapy, or maybe 12 months if she did not….
For the sake of Marlee and Mason, she opted for chemo, and prayed her doctor was right when they told her they believed in medical miracles.
All Mon wanted was to be with her kids as much as possible and to be able to make it to her sons 18th birthday in 6 years, and then after that, if she had to she would surrender herself.

On the 27th of May 2024, Mon went for her first session of chemotherapy,
that night we spoke and she told me she was shocked at the way she felt. She said “it’s not as bad as I expected, and I actually am feeling A-okay!”
… That was the last time she ever replied to me.
A few days passed, I tried to check in but got no reply, and I now know this was because she wasn’t well, feeling nauseous and had not been able to keep anything down or even eat for days in a row, when finally on the morning of June 6th 2024, 10 days after she had begun treatment, paramedics were called for her, early morning, but sadly she didn’t make it, and passed away during the 5 minute ambulance ride to the hospital.

Simone McLiesh left this world on the 6th Of June, aged 49, leaving a gaping hole in the lives of everyone who had ever loved her.

Please help us to give her kids the best chance at life possible without her here.
everyone that knew her knows we can put her body to rest, but a spirit that strong will never truly be gone.

We are hoping to raise just enough to assist with anything the kids may need over the coming months while they adjust to the new direction life has given them. Everything from groceries, to school fees, uniforms, etc.

So please, If you can spare just a little, $1, $5, $50, anything… it would be so greatly appreciated and would mean we are able to focus less on the financial side of the circumstances, and more on being there for each other and commencing the healing process.

We love you Mon,
For one last time, Let’s Trot.
