Silver Crest Farm Lava evacuation
Donation protected
~Silver Crest Farms ~
Located in the sun belt of Kapoho sits upon a grassy knoll is Silver Crest Farms.
Offering jungle rides, training and riding lessons for those near and far.
Unfortunately in the beginning of May the Puna District is Big Island Hawaii started to rumble as madam Pele made her way to the Kilauea east rift zone.
May 4th Puna was rocked with several 4.5-5.6 earthquakes along with a 6.9. Lava was spewing from the land near by and each eruption put the horses and farm at greater and greater danger. By the time the horses were able to be evacuated and exhibiting breathing issues due to Sulfur Dioxide and dodging road blocks to reach the farm.. the lava was eruption a mere 6,000 ft from the farm.
It’s hard to say how long Silver Crest Farms will be without a home.. let alone will there be a home to return to.. but what we do know is that the expenses to feed and home the horses in the meantime will come at a great cost. Unfortunately the business won’t be able to operate until they find a new home or allowed back to the farm.
Therefore we are hoping to raise money for SCF to keep them afloat until they can get back into business.
Mahalo nui for your donations!
