Remembering Simon Healy and supporting Lucy Underwood-Healy

Donation protected
On 31 October 2024, the eve of All Saints, Simon Healy suffered a sudden cardiac episode and, later that evening, he died in hospital. Simon is survived by his wife, Lucy, and his young children, Cecily and Edmund, as well as his mother Doreen and sister Sarah.

The Healys, Underwoods and wider family ask everyone to pray for the repose of Simon’s soul. Our thoughts and prayers are also with Lucy, Cecily and Edmund as they look ahead to life without Simon.

Through this page, we would like to provide an opportunity for everyone to contribute financially to the families’ efforts to support Lucy. Of course, all proceeds will be passed directly to Lucy as, in time, she will need to consider where to live and how to balance being a mother to Cecily and Edmund with the financial needs of the family.

The shock of Simon’s passing will be felt over the coming weeks and years and he already leaves a gaping hole in our lives. Simon delighted in his beautiful wife and children to whom he gave so much joy and from whom he received so much fulfilment. Many knew Simon as a ‘jolly English eccentric’, bringing laughter wherever he went. Simon also had a keen and discerning intellect and it was a particular joy to see him pass on his love of history and learning to his children. Music was another passion of Simon's and he played his violin or viola on all sorts of occasions, from orchestra through children's concerts and Christmas parties. He will be missed.

If you are able to contribute, we know that Lucy would be so grateful.

(Margaret Nicholson is Lucy Underwood-Healy's sister. She will receive the funds on Lucy's behalf from GoFundMe, and transfer the full amount directly to Lucy).
