Simpson Family Home Lost to Eaton Fire
Donation protected
The Altadena home my parents, Joe and Margaret Simpson, purchased in 1979, was destroyed by the Eaton fire on January 7th, 2025, losing 46+ years' worth of belongings and memories. While we are more than grateful that they escaped with their lives, they left with little more than the clothes they were wearing.
Growing up, we watched them work hard to ensure we always had a place to call home. My sister and I were raised here. Our children (their grands) all know this house as home base for the family. It was often a gathering place for food and fellowship after church. As neighbors have come and gone, my parents remained a fixture in this beautifully diverse community.
In the midst of this unprecedented tragedy, my parents' faith remains strong. They still smile knowing they have nothing to return to. My parents have shown up for countless others in their time of need. They have opened their home to those seeking refuge, their vehicles to those needing a ride, their wallets to those needing a meal, and their hearts to those simply needing prayer, and have never asked for anything in return, but always relying on God's promises.
Medication, clothing, footwear, furniture, appliances are just a few of the items they will need in the coming days, weeks, months, and years.
Although they will always have their faith and cherished memories, all that is tangible is gone. We are asking for your support in helping them start the process of rebuilding their home and their lives.
God Bless You and Thank You
